First Paragraph: My thoughts on the present general education platform and why I believe it should be changed. Include the negatives as well as the positives for the current system.
Second Paragraph: Why I feel that the second prototype is the correct choice for all students that attend this school. Emphasize the benefits and how it could help the university by changing its policy on general Eds. Discuss the suggested configuration for this prototype, explaining the credits, 15 in Expertise, 30 in Exploring, and 9 in Global Proficiency.
Third Paragraph: Underline what students are willing to receive from general eds. How students go for the easiest courses to increase their GPA’s. As this will improve GPA’s talk about how prototype three would decrease their GPA’s by forcing student’s to take four hundred level general eds. Include student responses on what they want to get out of gen eds by citing some opinions, criticism, and compliments.
Fourth Paragraph: Speak about changes required for the new prototype for students, professors, and the university. New courses that need to be made, new curriculum for the courses, new teaching patterns for them, new course materials, and possibly even new professors.
Fifth Paragraph: The effects of the second prototype if put into use. A hypothesis of how it would work out for the students, professors, and the university.
Conclusion: End with reasons that the General Education system should be changed to be convenient for everyone at the Pennsylvania State University.
